Goal setting and tracking progress are emphasized—day 3 addresses initiating change, reviewing initial pressures and setbacks, problem-solving challenges, and maintaining motivation. Day 4 focuses on action and assessment, tracking successes and challenges, validating efforts, problem-solving, and generalizing change into other life areas. Homework assignments support ongoing reflection and planning throughout the process.

- On Day 1, help clients understand their approach to change and identify strengths and challenges, including their support system.

- On Day 3, start with a homework review, check in on initial pressures and setbacks, and assist in problem-solving by identifying internal actions and support system contributions. Reinforce successful strategies and celebrate progress.
- For Day 4, review homework, track first steps, and facilitate a validation discussion. Assist in problem-solving by identifying internal actions and external support. Guide clients in generalizing changes to other areas of life and addressing barriers. Assign homework to create a plan for adjusting to change and tracking progress.
